About Marie
Marie Linnekin (1932-2017) was a vibrant member of the Maryland art community for 50 years. The work featured in this online gallery shows the evolution of her work through a variety of striking styles. Her son Richard described her beautifully when he wrote… “Her work was the perfect manifestation of her spirit; complex, colorful, diverse and always surprising!”

Taught art at the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts from 1979-82
Served on the Board of the Maryland Federation of Art and was president from 1980-81.

Taught art at the Anne Arundel Community College from 1985-2003
Hosted an artist critique group at her home from 2000-2016. Teaching was a true passion and a number of her students went on to become accomplished artists.
